1 Brodies, Scotland’s largest independent law firm, has named its new managing partner.

Stephen Goldie, 49, a litigation specialist, is taking over from Nick Scott, who has served two terms in the role and overseen its growth to being the first Scottish firm to book £100 million in annual revenue.

Scott, 53, plans to retire, saying it was a “personal and positive” decision. Goldie has been with the firm since 1999 and became a partner in 2001.
