The Gillards HGV was blocking Kiln Lane for nearly six hours until a recovery vehicle came to the rescue at around 7pm on Thursday, November 9.

The lorry knocked down part of a wall when trying to cross the tight bridge near Brambridge Garden Centre.

The road closure caused traffic build with drivers using the route, notorious for flooding, to get from Otterbourne to Colden Common and Eastleigh[2].

The recovery team was there for nearly an hour removing the HGV before the road could be re-opened.

There are signs informing drivers that the road is unsuitable for ‘long vehicles’.
