Horse on railway between Ely and March sees line blocked and …
A horse on the railway line in Cambridgeshire has affected train services on Friday morning (November 3). The lines between March and Ely[1] are currently blocked as a result with disruption expected to continue until 10am.
Services due to run through March and Ely stations will be delayed and/or cancelled, a Cross Country spokesperson said. They confirmed the animal on the line was a horse
A National Rail spokesperson said: “Animals on the railway between Peterborough[2] and Ely means all lines are blocked. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 40 minutes or revised. This is expected until 10:00.”
Replacement road transport services have been put in place between Leicester and Ely. The National Rail spokesperson said staff are on site to remove the obstruction.
A Greater Anglia spokesperson said: “Due to an obstruction on the track between March and Whittlesea some lines are blocked. Train services running through these stations may be delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until further notice.”
