Heartbroken mum pays tribute to ‘courageous’ son, 19, stabbed to …

The heartbroken mum of a teenager stabbed to death has paid tribute to her ‘courageous’ son. Shawn Seesahai was fatally wounded in open land off Laburnum Road, in the East Park area of Wolverhampton[1].

He was with friends when he was attacked just before 8.30pm on Monday, November 15. The 19-year-old could not be saved and died at the scene.

Mr Seesahai’s mum has now paid tribute to her son, describing how he ‘absolutely loved to help people’. In a tribute released by West Midlands Police[2], she said: “Shawn was a courageous, compassionate and confident young soul who sadly lost his life at the age of 19.

“He was looking forward to accomplishing many future plans and ambitions. He cared dearly about his family and friends and he absolutely loved to help people.

“He was a generous person and had a good personality. We will always have him in our hearts.”

Two 12-year-old boys arrested earlier this week on suspicion of murder remain in police custody. Detectives have been granted further time to question them.

Police patrols have also been stepped up in the wake of Mr Seesahai’s death. West Midlands Police[5] said: “Our patrols are continuing in the area as understandably the community is shocked and concerned, especially given the ages of the boys arrested.

“We would urge people not to speculate on social media and let our detectives continue with our investigation to achieve justice for Shawn’s family. Our thoughts remain with them in their time of grief.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police by quoting log 4878 of November 13. Call 101, using the Live Chat tool on the force’s website or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
