Gun and ammo seized during raid on city home that saw man arrested
A deadly firearm and ammunition have been seized after officers raided a Wolverhampton home, it has been revealed. West Midlands Police[1] say a 46-year-old man was also arrested following the warrant in Dunstall, Wolverhampton, on Thursday, November 2.
He remains in custody, a spokesman for the force told BirminghamLive. The find is part of Operation Target, which has seen the police force take a stand against a range of serious and organised crime offences – including drug dealing and burglary to cybercrime and fraud.
A spokesman added: “We’ve executed a warrant in Dunstall, Wolverhampton, this morning. We recovered a firearm with ammunition and arrested a 46-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a firearm. He remains in custody.
“Firearms have no place on our streets and we will pursue a criminal conviction for anyone in possession of these lethal weapons.Operation Target sees us take a defiant stand against a range of serious and organised crime offences – from drug dealing and burglary to cybercrime and fraud.
“Officers use local intelligence, seize goods, carry out warrants and target offenders as part of Op Target’s ongoing crackdown against serious and organised crime.”
