Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident – with a huge police presence swarming the roads and erecting a cordon across the dual carriageway. The road was cordoned off, between Brierton Lane and Rossmere Way, with both sides of the road blocked off to traffic.
Images from the scene on Friday showed officers probing the wreckage of the blue Audi, which was on its side next to a damaged brick wall and railing beside the carriageway. Eyewitnesses told Teesside Live how emergency services were “swarming all over the road” following the crash – with one person describing how they had “never seen that amount of different types of police officers” at the scene of a crash before.
