Fears for Edinburgh patients as GP and ‘care centre’ car park …
Users of the Pennywell All Care Centre found the car park filled with water, with locals saying they're "worried" for patients ". This comes as rain in the capital is expected to continue into Wednesday evening.
A local resident, who prefers to remain anonymous, told Edinburgh Live : "I'm disappointed that the only car park for Pennywell All Care Centre is flooded with rain.
"It's a new street and new development in Muirhouse, you'd expect the drains to be able to cope with this rain. It's worrying for people parking their cars, that they might not get back to them if they're delayed in the health centre."(Image: Supplied)
Pennywell All Care Centre offers a variety of services, including new GP accommodation, podiatry and child health services. It's a joint facility developed by NHS Lothian and Edinburgh Council.
The centre was completed in 2017, and opened to the public in 2018.
Edinburgh looks set to see more heavy rain, with dark clouds over the city for all of Tuesday. Into Wednesday, and we can expect more of the same.
Heavy rain is expected to ease off by Wednesday evening, with the remainder of the week mainly dry until Saturday lunchtime - which brings more showers.
The flooding at Pennywell comes after another Edinburgh road was submerged in water, following heavy rain on Sunday night. Bankhead Drive was seen with pools of water, as residents filmed the road on their commute.
NHS Lothian and Edinburgh Council have been approached for comment.
