Family pay tribute to ‘much-loved’ man who died in horror crash in …
The family of a man killed in a crash[1] involving a car and a lorry in Aberdeenshire[2] is “absolutely devastated” by his death. Daniel Wall, from the St Fergus area, died at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after the collision on the A90 shortly before 10am on Saturday near Crimond.
The 43-year-old, who had multiple sclerosis, had raised money for MS Society with two parachute jumps and was a music and comedy fan. In a statement released through Police Scotland[3], Mr Wall’s family said: “We are all absolutely devastated by Daniel’s passing. Daniel was a much-loved, special man who touched the hearts of many people.
“Daniel’s love for music and comedy saw him attend many gigs featuring local bands, becoming friends with band members and goers alike. Daniel had a real zest for life despite his illness and over the years raised significant funds for the MS Society, completing two parachute jumps.
“He was a kind, courageous and loving man with a great sense of humour who will be so sorely missed but remembered with a smile. Our sincere thanks for the messages of support received from all those who knew him or our family.”
The passenger of the car, a 46-year-old woman, was released from hospital with no serious injuries. The driver of the lorry, a 41-year-old man, was arrested in connection with the incident.
Mr Wall was the driver of a blue Nissan Qashqai, which was involved in the crash with a white lorry at around 9.55am. He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance, where he later died.
The A90 was closed for around 12 hours to allow for investigation and vehicle recovery. The road reopened at around midnight. Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances and anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0967 of November 18.
