Family launch fundraiser to save Inverness man’s life after tumour …
The family of a man who crashed a lorry into a building after suffering a seizure have started a fundraiser to save his life.
Steven Fry, from Inverness, crashed a HGV truck into an empty shop premises in the centre of Beauly in September 2021.
Steven was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital where it was confirmed the 32-year-old suffered a seizure behind the wheel and that it was due to an undiagnosed brain tumour.
After the accident, Steven suffered a bleed on the brain following a biopsy and underwent emergency surgery.

The lifesaving surgery left the former lorry driver paralysed down the right side of his body.
Steven spent three months in hospital after the crash and was released in December 2021 just two weeks before the birth of now one-year-old daughter Piper.
Since the crash Steven has had to relearn many life skills, but has spent a lot of time volunteering on the hospital ward he stayed on helping other cancer patients.
In the initial aftermath of the accident an online appeal raised more than £12,000 to help the family.
Now his sister-in-law, Hayley Anderson, has launched a Go Fund Me[1] appeal with a goal of £50,000 to help pay for “potentially life-saving treatment” Cell-based Immunotherapy, which is not available on the NHS.
Hayley shared that the therapy can be the “last hope for many cancer patients who have an inoperable tumour and terminal diagnosis”.
However, she added that the treatment can be the first and last treatment needed for all cancer patients and following an initial consultation with a team of specialists, Steven has been informed “that he is a suitable candidate and the chances of it being successful are high”.
On the fundraising page, Steven’s sister-in-law revealed that he is undergoing chemotherapy but his life was “currently time limited”.
“The tumour is inoperable meaning that his time with his family is devastatingly limited. Unfortunately the side effects of chemotherapy are also damaging for him.”
Hayley added: “With so much love, care and support from his family Steven has made progress with learning how to walk and talk again but he won’t recover unless he has lifesaving cancer treatment.
“He wants more than anything to experience the life with [Piper] and for her to have her daddy with her for as long as possible.”
