Dewsbury landslide pictures amid Huddersfield and Leeds train …

Network Rail has released photographs of a landslide which is set to disrupt rail travel until Sunday night.[1]

The landslip has been causing problems for passengers who use trains between Huddersfield[2] and Leeds. Services have been diverted but trains have not been calling at several stations.

Engineers are working to fix the damage which has affected land beside the track near Thornhill Road, Dewsbury. Part of a wall collapsed on Wednesday, it has been reported.

Services operated by TransPennine Express and Northern have been affected. Network Rail has said that services should be back to normal by Monday. Replacement buses have been requested for stations between Huddersfield and Leeds. Some services have been diverted but have not been calling at Morley, Batley, Dewsbury, Mirfield and Brighouse.

In an update earlier today, the National Rail website says: "A landslip between Dewsbury and Ravensthorpe means some lines towards Huddersfield / Brighouse are blocked. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes or diverted.

"Although trains are able to run in the opposite direction towards Leeds at line-speed, services may also be cancelled due to the displacement of trains and crew. Disruption is expected until the end of the day on Sunday, November 12."

One of two lines is closed due to a landslide between Dewsbury and Ravensthorpe, says Network Rail
