Dashcam footage shows horror moment truck crashes into more …
Shocking footage has shown the moment a driver had a lucky escape after a huge truck lost control and crashed[1] into 33 vehicles.
The moment was caught on dashcam[2] by Austin England. It shows how he narrowly avoided the horror crash[3] as he was travelling down North Main Street in Tooele, Utah.
Austin, 35, was just driving down the road when he suddenly saw a truck speeding down the wrong side of the road. As the truck was travelling towards him, Austin was able to hit the gas and turn out of the way of the oncoming truck.
The lorry, which was carrying trailers full of gravel, slammed through several intersections before it crashed into a car dealership. According to local media, 10 people were injured in the horror smash with non-life-threatening injuries and one was flown to hospital in a critical condition.
Lieutenant Jeremy Hansen said state investigators were still reviewing what happened. However, he added preliminary investigations have indicated the brakes on the truck may have failed.
“I’ve never seen an accident this big in Tooele city in my 17 years here,” he said. Lieutenant Hansen was driving on Main Street and watched the crash unfold in front of him.

Tooele City Police confirmed several vehicles were involved in an accident on nearby Vine Street before the truck went through the front of the Tooele Motor Company building. An investigation has been launched into that earlier crash.
“I was going straight and all of the sudden I saw a semi-truck driving really fast down the wrong side of the road heading right towards me,” said Austin. “Luckily I was able to step on the gas pedal and turn out of the way!
“Right after the truck almost hit me, it hit the cars next to me and then the truck for some reason decided to swerve into a Ford dealership parking lot where it hit multiple brand new cars before bursting into flames as it hit the building. Luckily, the driver of the truck was able to escape the burning truck and even though it hit that many vehicles, no one was killed.
“Eleven people were injured but with non-life threatening injuries. It went through five intersections in total before hitting into the dealership. No one inside of the dealership had any of the injuries.”

One resident said his life flashed before his own eyes when the crash happened as he was out running errands. “I see a semi coming straight at me, and I was hoping it was going to regain its, whatever, to drive straight, and it didn’t, and it hit the car right in front of me, and that’s when I just closed my eyes and prayed,” said Tony Garner.
As soon as he realised he was alive, he immediately jumped out of his car. “I had got out, checked on the guy in the truck that was flipped over,” he said. “We got him pulled out successfully. He was covered in blood. It was just horrifying.”
According to authorities, the fire[5] was extinguished but caused extensive damage to the building. In total, there are believed to be between 10 and 15 brand-new vehicles that were damaged in the crash.
The driver of the semi-truck is cooperating with police when it comes to the investigation. CJ Goldsberry was working at the car dealership and watched the front of the building go up in flames.
“It just smashed into the front of the Ford building and just lit up on fire and everything,” he said. “Other cars started exploding. It was pandemonium. It was really crazy.”
