D&G investigates after crashed bus wipes out shelter

Transport operator D&G has launched an investigation after one of its buses was involved in a two-vehicle collision. The bus was in collision with a car before ploughing through a bus shelter and coming to a stop on a pavement.

The remains of the wiped-out shelter were left lying on the pavement over the weekend with the bus stop blocked off with barriers.

The alarm was raised on Thursday, November 9 following the collision on Biddulph Road, in Fegg Hayes[1], near its junction with Hollington Drive.

Now D&G has confirmed its investigation continues. Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service[2] treated both drivers at the scene.

Keith Myatt, head of business development for the Centrebus Group, which includes D&G Bus, said: “I can confirm we are continuing to investigate the incident fully and will be concluding our findings soon.”

Any witnesses to the collision should call Staffordshire Police[3] on 101.
