Concerns raised about ‘driving standards’ of tractors on Cambs roads
Concerns have been raised about the ‘driving standards’ of some tractors on Cambridgeshire roads. Police in the east of the county say they’ve seen an increase in reports.
These have included tractor drivers using their mobile phones while behind the wheel and speeding in built up areas. Police are urging anyone who spots drivers breaching rules to contact them.
A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: “We have seen a rise in community reports in East Cambridgeshire[1] concerning the driving standards of some tractor drivers. Concerns include speeding in built up areas and drivers using their mobile phones while operating tractors.
“If you drive a tractor, be aware that you can be prosecuted for the same traffic offences as other road users. This includes using handheld mobile phones and committing speeding offences.”
