Car crashed into barrier after collision with van on ring road

A car crashed into a metal barrier following a collision with a van on Nuneaton’s main ring road. Crowds gathered as police raced to Jubilee Way, formerly known as Roanne Ringway, close to its junction with Queens Road.

Police blocked off part of the ring road as well as the Queens Road junction heading towards Dugdale Street as a result of the collision. The incident happened at just before 1.20pm this afternoon.

Warwickshire[1] Police confirmed 999 calls were made to report the collision at 1.17pm. Fortunately no one was injured so West Midlands Ambulance Service was not called into action.

But police did have to arrange for the recovery of the black Citroen C3, which had crashed into a metal barrier, as well as the white flatbed van involved in the collision. It meant that the stretch of road was closed until just before 3pm.
