Bury St Edmunds traffic ‘chaos’ as removal lorries park on double …
Two removal lorries parked illegally brought a town to a standstill causing the delays of up to 45 minutes.
Police were called to the incident at 9.10am this morning after a member of the public reported the lorries parked on double yellow lines on Tayfen Road, Bury St Edmunds.[1]
Traffic jams were reported by AA Route planner as stretching back as far back as St Saviours Interchange due to the obstruction, and also along Station Hill.
The removals vans were parked on Tayfen RoadBut motorists reported being caught in tailbacks as far back as the A143 before Orttewell Road and also along Compeigne Way.
Two police cars attended Tayfen Road at 9.25am and ordered the drivers of the lorries to move on.
A spokesperson for Suffolk Police said: “A member of the public called in and said the removal lorries were causing chaos.

Traffic queueing on the A143It is understood the congestion has now cleared.
