Angry protestors flock to Edinburgh factory as police scrambled to …
A number of protestors have gathered outside an Edinburgh factory as the Israel and Palestinian conflict escalates.
At around 8am on November 2, a crowd of people were seen standing outside Leonardo[1] on Crewe Road North holding signs calling for a 'free Palestine'.
In images seen by Edinburgh Live, Police Scotland officers were at the scene. In the demonstration, understood to be organised by Scottish PSC, activists waited at the gates as staff drove into work on Thursday morning.
According to people at the protest, there were 'over 100' gathering outside of 'all ages, gender, and race'. Police officers stood between the crowds at the road as cars drove into the site. In a video posted on X, formally known as Twitter, crowds can be heard chanting.
It is understood the Leonardo building has been targeted by the protestors due to its assumed part in the supply of defence equipment to Israel. The company is an Italian multinational firm specialising in aerospace and security.
Leonardo refused to comment. Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
