'Very long delays' on A500 says National Highways

National Highways warns of 'very long delays' on the A500 after a crash near the City Road junction.

Highways adds drivers are stuck in 5 miles of congestion on approach.

Police are on the scene with Traffic Officers en-route.

Drivers should expect delays of over 30 minutes.

In a tweet, National Highways said: "There are very long delays on the #A500 southbound near #StokeOnTrent due to a collision near the City Road junction.

"Police are on scene and our Traffic Officers are en-route.

"There's over a half an hour delay with 5 miles of congestion on approach."
