Road still closed as investigation into crash continues

The A42 Southbound remains closed while police continue their investigation into the crash which happened early this morning.

An update by traffic trackers Inrix says: "A42 - ASHBY-DE-LA-ZOUCH - SOUTHBOUND - LEICESTERSHIRE

"A42 Southbound closed due to accident investigation work from J13 A511 (Ashby-de-la-zouch / Coalville, Ashby-de-la-zouch) to M42 J11 (Burton-Upon-Trent, Appleby Magna).

"Congestion to the M1 near Leicester as traffic avoids the closure. Ongoing since around 05:30 this morning. Diversion - follow the hollow black circle symbol onto the B5006 and onto the B4116 through Measham and then the A444 at Applyby Magna, re-joining the A42 at J11."
