A345 crash: Lorry driver fails to stop after hitting tree onto car

A lorry driver failed to stop after hitting a tree – which then fell onto a car.

Police were called the road traffic collision on the A345, near Rushall, yesterday (Wednesday).

At around 12.55pm, the lorry – a HGV – hit a tree at the side of the road, causing it to fall over.

In doing so, the tree struck a car and caused damage. Despite this, the driver of the lorry continued driving away from the incident.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Luckily, no one was injured but the road was partially blocked for around 1.5 hours while the debris was cleared.
