A man was rushed to hospital following a crash on the A303[1] in Somerset[2]. The road is closed near South Petherton following the collision between two vehicles, one of which was parked.

Avon and Somerset Police[3] were called to the scene between the A358 and the A356 at around midnight today (November 17). They have confirmed that a man was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

At the time of writing (9.30am), the A303 remains closed in both directions for recovery work to take place. A diversion route is in place[4] and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called at around midnight today (Friday 17 November) to the A303 near South Petherton following a report of a collision between two vehicles, one of which was parked.

“One man was taken to hospital, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life changing. The road was closed while emergency services attended and vehicles were recovered.”
