A14 crash in Northamptonshire leaves road closed to traffic on …

The A14 is closed on the Cambridgeshire border following a ‘serious’ crash tonight (Friday, November 10). The crash has shut the eastbound carriageway in Northamptonshire between Junction 13 (Thrapston) and Junction 16 (Kimbolton).

The crash is reported to involve two vehicles. The closure was first reported at around 9.30pm.

A National Highways spokesperson said: “The A14 in Northamptonshire is closed eastbound between J10 (Burton Latimer) and J16 (Brington) due to a serious collision involving two cars. Northamptonshire Police are responding to a serious collision involving two cars which occurred at approximately 21:26 this evening.

“National Highways Traffic Officers and service providers are en route to assist police with traffic management. Traffic is currently being diverted via local routes.

“If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey. “

Inrix, the traffic data company, said: “A14[2] Eastbound closed due to accident between J13 (Thrapston) and J16 (Catworth / Kimbolton).”
