?5k raised for family going through ‘nightmare’ after death
Almost £6k has been raised for a family going through a "nightmare" after a "lovely lad" was killed on his way to work.
Emergency services were called to East Lancashire Road, at the junction of Moorgate Road,[1] at around 7am on Friday, November 3. They found a cyclist, 25, and a white Volkswagen Sirocco car had crashed on the Liverpool bound carriageway.
The 25-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries[2] but died a short time later. Police have now named the man as Dylan Kearns from Kirkby[3] as his devastated family pay tribute.
The tribute read: "Dylan Kearns was tragically taken away from all his loving family and partner, Jamie, this morning. He was a well-known lad and liked by everyone and he had a contagious smile that was so warm. "He was so loved and will be missed by everyone.”
A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs and driving a vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the limit. He is currently in police custody.
A GoFundMe[6] was launched by Suzanne Hill, on behalf of Dylan's family, on Monday, November 6 to help raise money towards his funeral.
The description of the GoFundMe added: "He was so loved and will be missed by everyone. We just want to do something positive for the family and raise funds to help ease the burden of any costs that will inevitably arise from his untimely death."
Just two days after the GoFundMe page was created 205 people have donated £5,770 and hundreds have left messaged of condolence for the family.
Suzanne Hill posted an update on the fundraising page on Tuesday, November, 8 and thanked the community for their support.
She said: "What can I say there are no words. Just THANK YOU to each and everyone of you who have took the time to send messages, of condolences and donated to help Dylan’s family through this nightmare.
"Your support has been unconditional and from all of Dylan’s family we want to say thank you & God bless you RIP."
