‘Youths in helmets and balaclavas’ attack two men in town centre

Two men were injured in an assault in Keynsham[1] on Friday (October 20). Avon and Somerset Police say enquiries are taking place following the disorder.

Officers were called to the High Street area just after 5.30pm, where they found two men who had sustained injuries after being ‘physically assaulted by a number of youths’. Some of the offenders are said to have arrived on foot, while others were on an e-scooter and a bike.

They were said to be wearing face coverings, including helmets or balaclavas. Police[2] have today (October 21) issued a public appeal.

The force said both victims went to hospital with injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening. CCTV enquiries are being carried out and police are asking for any witnesses, or motorists with dashcam footage, who have not yet come forward to call 101 and quote reference number 5223256991.
