Yorkshire Coast ultimate road trip with everything from ziplines to food

A road trip up the Yorkshire Coast featuring ziplines, cycling trails and good food is launching this winter with six different destinations.

Route YC, described as “Yorkshire’s ultimate road trip” has launched a new campaign for autumn and winter featuring six different Yorkshire Coast destinations. This includes Spurn Point, Whitby, Hornsea and many others.

The group is encouraging tourists to experience “outdoor adventures” around the area. They have now provided a list of five different activities to do along the coastline.

First up comes the zipline at the North Yorkshire Waterpark in Scarborough. The 13-metre-tall tower stands in the seaside town and is perfect for anyone looking for some adrenaline.

You can also experience paddleboarding, kayaking, or other water-based activities at the park. This means its well suited to people of all ages.

Next is the Dalby Forest E-Xplorer trail in the North York Moors. This is a brand new 17km e-biking trail in the serene Dalby Forest.

Here, there are plenty of rolling hills and tracks lined with trees. The e-bikes, which can be hired at the site, make the journey much easier, meaning people of all skill levels can take part.

There is also the brand new Wolds restaurant at the Orchard Lodge B&B in Flixton. Michael Burgoyne, an award-winning chef, uses 80% locally sourced ingredients including Yorkshire wine.

With an AA five-star accommodation rating, the location is just a few miles from both Scarborough and Filey.

If you fancy a more relaxed walk, there is the King Charles III England Coast Path, stretching from Filey to Bridlington. This newly named path is a waymarked walk between the two seaside towns and the path is eventually planned to cover the entire English coastline.

Finally, you can also visit some of Europe’s lobster capitals in Bridlington, Scarborough and Whitby. The three towns are top European ports for lobsters with plenty of fine-dining on offer.

The Whitby Lobster Hatchery, located in the Marine Discovery Centre, aims to conserve the area’s lobster stock and plans to release 100,000 lobsters back into the wild every year. You can find out more at the Marine Discovery Centre itself.

With all of these different ideas, there is plenty to see and do along the Yorkshire Coast this winter.
