Woman taken to Royal Stoke after crash in Newcastle
A woman was taken to hospital after a crash involving two cars and a van in Newcastle[1] this morning (October 5). Officers from Staffordshire Police[2] and West Midlands Ambulance Service[3] attended the scene at the junction of The Brambles and Westbury Road in Westbury Park, Newcastle, shortly before 10.30am.
The driver of one of the cars received treatment at the scene before being taken to Royal Stoke. Two of the other drivers and one of the passengers were assessed at the scene for their injuries.
A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to a road traffic collision involving two cars and a van at the junction of The Brambles and Westbury Road in Westbury Park, Newcastle at 10.27am. Three ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene. Upon arrival, we found four patients, two men and two women.

“The first woman who was the driver of one of the cars had sustained potentially serious injuries. She received treatment from ambulance staff at the scene before being conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further treatment. Two men who were the drivers of the car and van and a woman who was a passenger in one of the vehicles were assessed and had sustained injuries not believed to be serious. They received self care advice before being discharged at the scene.”
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: “We were called to The Brambles, Newcastle-under-Lyme, at 10.30am this morning, Thursday, October 5, following reports of a collision involving three vehicles. Officers attended with Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service.
“We found a red Vauxhall Combo, a blue Hyundai and a silver Citroen C4 involved in a collision. The driver of the blue Hyundai, a woman in her 80s, was taken to hospital by paramedics for precautionary checks.”
