Woman fights for life after being hit by car outside Royal Court

A woman is fighting for her life after being hit by a car near the Royal Court theatr[1]e and Queen Square bus station.
Emergency services were called to Roe Street, at around 3.50pm on Sunday, October 29. They found two people, a man and a woman, had suffered serious head injuries in the crash.
Police[2] have today confirmed that the man suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and is in a stable condition. They said that the woman, who is in her 40s, remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police[5] said: "Police officers who were at the scene administered CPR on the woman until ambulance staff arrived and took over her care." The driver of the car involved, g a blue SEAT Ateca, remained at the scene and is assisting police with enquiries.
Pictures from the scene showed a car which had come to rest with its boot against the theatre building. Police initially cordoned off a large area including the entirety of the bus station, before narrowing the cordon to the scene on Roe Street.
Buses were blocked from getting into Queen Square and pedestrians were initially diverted through St John's Shopping Centre. Police area appealing for information about the incident.
