Wigston: Arrest after cyclist seriously injured in collision

A man has been arrested after a cyclist was seriously injured in a collision in Leicestershire.

The crash happened at the junction of Aylestone Lane and Viking Road, in Wigston, at about 09:20 GMT on Monday.

It was reported that the driver of a tipper lorry had left the scene of the collision before the emergency services arrived, police said.

The cyclist – a man in his 50s – was taken to hospital with serious injuries and is continuing to receive treatment.
