Updates as West Derby Road closed after man hit by van

West Derby Road was closed in both directions due to a police incident.

Emergency services[1] cordoned off the main road, between Lower Breck Road and Green Lane.

Diversions were put in place on Utting Avenue, Queens Drive and Prescot Road as officers worked at the scene.

The ECHO[3] has contacted Merseyside police for more information about the nature of the incident.
