Commuters will be hit by another round of strikes this week as the dispute between rail workers and train operating companies over pay, jobs and working conditions continues.
Drivers are now set to walk out on two more dates, disrupting thousands of passengers travel plans on the affected days.
So, what days will services be affected on this week? Which companies are striking? How should you plan your journey during strike action?

A total of 16 companies are set to be affected by the walkouts, and while some services will still be running, passengers are advised to plan their journeys in advance
When are the October train strikes this week?
Wednesday October 4
London Underground[2] strikes, which were set to affect the entire network, were called off on Tuesday. However, industrial action is still affecting some rail operators across the UK.
Thursday October 5
Industrial action from the previous day is likely to affect early morning services, while a further overtime ban will see a reduced number of services run.
Friday October 6
London[3] Underground strike action has also been called off for this day. However, an overtime ban by train drivers likely to reduce services.
Saturday October 7
Similarly to Thursday, strikes from Friday will affect early morning services on Saturday, with more disruption expected.

AVANTI WEST COAST
Wednesday, October 4 – No service due to strike action

LONDON UNDERGROUND
Planned London Underground strikes on Wednesday 4 and Friday 6 October have been called off.
The industrial action by 3,000 workers belonging to the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union was due to have crippled services – with little to no trains running at all over the two days as well as in the early morning on Thursday and Saturday.
But the walkouts were suspended at noon today following what the RMT described as ‘significant progress’ made by its negotiators and Underground representatives.
Planned London Underground strikes on Wednesday 4 and Friday 6 October have been cancelled
LUMO
It will be business as usual for Lumo, who will run a normal service.
MERSEYRAIL
In similar fashion, Merseyrail trains are set to run as planned.
