Three people cut from car by firefighters after Selby crash

Three people were rescued from a car and rushed to hospital following a .crash in North Yorkshire[1] yesterday.

Around 8.30pm on Monday, October 16, a grey Seat Ibiza was travelling towards Hillam, Selby[2], before crashing on Roe Lane. Three people, a male passenger in the front, as well as two female passengers travelling in the back of the car, were left trapped inside the car.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service had to stabilise the car, and remove the roof in bid to rescue them. The trio were all rushed to hospital in ambulances.

Officers from North Yorkshire Police (NYP) are appealing for witnesses and people with dash-cam footage to come forward as soon as possible. Confirming the details of what happened, a spokesperson for NYP said: “Officers are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage following a single vehicle collision in the Selby area.

“The incident occurred at around 8.30pm on Monday, October, 16 on Roe Lane. The car, a grey Seat Ibiza, was travelling in the direction of Hillam when it left the road.

“North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene and stabilised the car before carrying out a roof removal. Three occupants of the car, a male travelling as a passenger in the front of the car, and two female passengers travelling in the back of the car were taken to hospital by Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident, the events surrounding it or had seen the vehicle in the area prior to the collision is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police.”
