Teenage motorbiker, 17, killed and second hurt in horror crash with …

A 17-year-old boy has been killed in a tragic pile-up between a Range Rover and a group of motorbikes. The teenage motorbiker died at the scene in Shropshire[1] just after midnight today, Sunday October 1.

West Mercia Police[2] said a second motorbiker suffered serious injuries in the serious collision with a grey Range Rover on the A458 at Rowton. Traffic officers have kept the section of road between Rowton junction and Cardeston Park junction closed in both directions since the crash, for over 13 hours.

Motorists have been urged to avoid the area while investigations and recovery work takes place through the day. The A458 is a busy road that links the A5 for Shrewsbury[3] and Halfway House village.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “The collision happened this morning, just after midnight, when a grey Range Rover collided with a group of motorbikes.

“One motorcyclist has sustained serious injuries and sadly another, a 17-year-old, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.

“Officers carrying out enquiries into the collision are appealing for witnesses, including any motorists on the road around the time of the collision with dash-cam footage.”
