Teen in Royal Stoke with ‘serious injuries’ after lorry crash
A teenage girl has suffered ‘serious injuries’ after a collision with a lorry on a busy Potteries road. Police[1] and paramedics were called out to Weston Road, in Weston Coyney[2], yesterday (October 4).
The collision is thought to have taken place close to the junction with Weston Coyney Road. Witnesses say the girl was tended to by passers-by as they waited for the arrival of the emergency services.
Today and both the ambulance service and police have released statements following the collision which occurred at around 4.20pm .

West Midlands Ambulance Service[5] sent an ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene.
An ambulance service spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival we found a teenage girl with serious injuries that were not life threatening. She received treatment at the scene and was conveyed to the Royal Stoke University Hospital[6] for further treatment. The driver of the lorry did not require treatment from ambulance staff.”
Staffordshire Police say the truck driver remained at the scene to speak with officers.
A police spokesman said: “We were called to Weston Coyney following reports of a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian. Officers and paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance attended. The pedestrian, a girl in her teens, was taken to hospital for precautionary checks. The lorry driver stayed at the scene to help officers with inquiries.”
