Heavy downpours are expected to hit the city tomorrow morning on Thursday, October 26 and a yellow rain warning is in place.

The forecaster[1] has said that “possible further heavy rainfall, falling onto wet or saturated ground, could cause some flooding and disruption in places” following the widespread disruption recently caused by Storm Babet[2].

Possible impacts of the adverse conditions will include disrupted journeys by road and rail, road closures, and damage to buildings.

A statement from the Met Office said: “Further areas of heavy rain are possible across parts of southern England late on Wednesday night, and during Thursday morning. 20 to 30 mm could fall within a period of 3 to 6 hours, and perhaps 40 mm overall; should such amounts fall in areas affected by recent heavy rain (especially the rain which fell over parts of the warning area on Wednesday morning), then further impacts might be expected.”
