Pub and houses flooded as deep water rushes down road in …

A pub[1] and houses have been semi-submerged by flooding in Caunton, Nottinghamshire[2], as Storm Babet[3] hit the Midlands[4].

Fire services in Derbyshire[5] and Nottinghamshire had shared pictures on social media website X on Friday 20 October of vehicles in water after drivers were rescued[6].

More footage shows deep floodwater rushing down a road in Caunton, leaving the local pub, The Beck, and a number of houses semi-submerged.

Heavy rain and strong winds are continuing to impact rail services in the Midlands, with train companies advising passengers to check their journey before they travel.
