Police seize drug stash and ?9k in house raid

Police seized a drug stash and £9,000 after a raid on a house.

Alex Fairclough was arrested on May 25 following a warrant carried out at his home address. During the searches officers recovered quantities of Class A drugs along with more than £9,000 cash.

The 33-year-old, of Access Road, West Derby[1], was jailed following a sentencing hearing at Liverpool Crown Court[2] on Friday, September 29. He was sentenced to two years and five months in prison after he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

Pictures shared by the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU) showed clear bags filled with white substances and bundles of notes.

Detective Sergeant Mark Atkinson from the NWROCU's Operations Team said: "From street level deals to those supplying drugs on a wholesale scale, tackling drugs remains a priority for the NWROCU. I hope today's sentencing sends a message to those involved in crime that our officers are relentless and will deal robustly with those bringing drugs into the North West.”

The NWROCU tackles serious organised crime across the North West region and carries out investigations into serious and organised crime on behalf of police forces in Merseyside, Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, and North Wales.
