Police race to East Lothian due to emergency incident as ‘all trains …

Several police[1] vehicles and at least one Scottish Fire and Rescue Service appliance have raced to Longniddry train station[2] after a person was struck by a train.

A shocked onlooker shared an image with Edinburgh Live that shows emergency services in their droves attending to an ongoing incident at around 1pm on Monday October 30.

ScotRail[3] announced that a person had been hit by a train between Wallyford and Drem[4], adding that all lines are closed and that disruption is expected to last until 3pm.

On their website they said: "Because of a person being hit by a train between Wallyford and Drem all lines are closed. Disruption is expected to last until around 15:00 today (30 October).

"Train services between Edinburgh and North Berwick will be cancelled.

"We are working closely with emergency services during this time and will keep you updated."

ScotRail have arranged alternative rail travel for customers impacted by the incident with a ticket acceptance scheme in place for the 26 bus to Musselburgh and Prestonpans.

In a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, ScotRail posted: "NEW: Unfortunately we have received reports of the emergency services dealing with an incident between Wallyford and Drem.
