Paramedics rush to incident on Birmingham New Road

Paramedics have rushed to the scene of a medical incident on the Birmingham New Road in Tipton. West Midlands Ambulance Service[1] received a call at around 3.30pm today, Monday, October 16, and sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a critical care car.

A photograph from the scene showed a queue of cars on the southbound dual carriageway. A spokesperson for WMAS told BlackCountryLive: “We are currently attending a medical incident on Birmingham New Road in Tipton following a call at around 3.30pm.

“Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and Air Ambulance Critical Care Car from Cosford have been sent to the scene.” Traffic monitoring website Inrix reported congestion on the dual carriageway this evening.

An accident reportedly took place near Aldi, with part of line blocked and traffic queueing. The bus services 8 and 8X have been diverted.

Inrix said in an alert: “A4123 Birmingham New Road Northbound partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident near Aldi[4]. Congestion to surrounding routes around Dudley[5] and Tipton. Diversion – National Express Bus services 8 and 8X.”
