MOPED RIDER AND LORRY DRIVER SOUGHT AS POLICE …
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman in her 40s was critically injured after being hit by a car in Cowes this morning (Thursday).
As previously reported by Island Echo[1], the casualty has been airlifted to the mainland in a potentially life-threatening condition after being hit by a white Kia Picanto on Newport Road, Cowes at just gone 08:00.
Now, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary is keen to identify any witnesses, in particular 2 specific vehicle drivers who may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it.

Officers would like to speak to the rider of a red motorcycle and the driver of a white lorry.
Newport Road remains closed between the junctions of Smithards Lane and Milton Road as on-scene investigations continue.

The driver of the Kia, a man in his 70s, was initially arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink or drunks but he has since been released with no further action.
