Masked men swipe ‘cigarettes and booze’ in hour-long Spar raid

Masked men made off with cigarettes, alcohol and vapes - after spending more than an hour looting a convenience store. And the raiders, who were dressed in black, also swiped a laptop during the prolonged burglary at the Spar in Stafford.[1]

Now Staffordshire Police[2] are appealing for witnesses to come forward - and are keen to hear from anyone who spotted 'suspicious activity or vehicles' in the neighbourhood at the time. Officers say the burglars forced their way inside the Cape Avenue shop at around midnight on Tuesday, October 3 and left at 1.15am this morning.

A spokeswoman said: "At midnight two unknown offenders forced entry to the Spar shop on Cape Avenue, Western Downs, and stole various items including vapes, cigarettes and alcohol. They left the shop at around 1.15am today

"The offenders also took a laptop from an office inside the shop. They are described as two men dressed in black and wearing face coverings.

"We are appealing to anyone that may have witnessed any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area at the time."

Witnesses should call the force on 101 and quote incident 77 of October 4.
