Man found dead in car in Cambs ditch after post office armed robbery

A man has been found dead in a car in a ditch following an armed robbery in Cambridgeshire[1]. Police were called to the raid at Manea Post Office, on Park Road, Manea at around 7.15pm on Sunday (October 22).

Around 15 minutes later, police were contacted by paramedics about a car in a water-filled ditch in Byall Fen Drove. The man was found dead inside the vehicle, a silver Ford Focus.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: “A 25-year-old man was discovered uninjured close by and arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drink and drug driving. He remains in custody.

“Officers are linking the vehicle in the ditch with the robbery and investigations continue. Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam footage of the moments leading up to it, should contact the road policing unit via webchat[4] or by calling 101, quoting incident 457 of 22 October.”
