Man dies after crash between Mercedes van and DAF lorry on A28 …
A driver in his 30s has died following a serious crash between a van and a lorry on an A-road.
Emergency services were called to A28 Great Chart Bypass in Ashford[1] between the Matalan and Tithe Barn Lane roundabouts this morning.

Paramedics were seen to join police at the scene[2] at 11am.
The vehicles – a white Mercedes van and an orange DAF lorry – were both severely damaged and the van driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The lorry driver has been taken to the William Harvey Hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.
The road remains closed in both directions, with traffic building through Great Chart village as drivers seek an alternative route.
Kent Police’s serious collision investigation unit is carrying out inquiries and urge anyone who saw the incident, or who has relevant dashcam footage, to get in touch.
