Man accused of threatening staff with meat cleaver at Grimsby shop

Police investigating reports of robbery at a store in Grimsby have charged a man in connection with the incident.

It follow reports of a robber threatening shop staff with a meat cleaver and demanding cash at the shop in Laceby Road. He is said to have fled when a member of the public intervened, leaving the weapon and cash behind.

A 33-year-old man has been charged with robbery, possession of a knife and threatening a person with a bladed article.

In a statement, Humberside Police[1] said: "A 33-year-old man has been charged following a robbery at a shop on Laceby Road in Grimsby on Sunday October 22. Joe Page, of St Michaels Road, Grimsby has been charged with robbery, possession of a knife and threatening a person with a bladed article. He has been remanded into custody appear at Grimsby Magistrates Court[2] this morning (Tuesday).."
