Major road closed due to overturned lorry

Drivers are being warned to avoid the area after a vehicle overturned at the A82 southbound sliproad to Erskine Bridge, with police being in attendance.

The slip road is said to be “closed for some time” with road users advised to avoid the area.

In a statement released on X (formerly known as Twitter), Police Scotland[1] said: “Please be advised that the A82 southbound slip to the Erskine Bridge is currently closed to traffic due to an overturned vehicle.

“The slip is likely to be closed for some time and drivers are asked to avoid the area”.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were made aware of an overturned lorry on the A82 slip southbound at the Erskine Bridge around 2.45pm on Sunday, 1 October.

“Police and other emergency services are in attendance. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.”
