M2 delays after crash involving car and lorry – LIVE updates

Delays were expected on the M2 citybound this morning after a crash involving a car and a lorry.

The collision occurred on the Sandyknowes on-slip, police say.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Just before 8.20am, police received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the M2.

“The collision, between a car and a lorry, occurred on the Sandyknowes on-slip.

“One driver reported injuries which are not thought to be serious at this time.

“Traffic is flowing freely in the area.”

Trafficwatch NI had said: “M2 citybound – a second road traffic collision on the M2 citybound – a car and a lorry between J5 Templepatrick and J4 Sandyknowes (closer to the Motorway Service – expect delays (08:35).

“Lorry obstructing outer lane.”

Speaking about the previous collision, Trafficwatch added: “M2 citybound – the vehicles involved in a road traffic collision on the M2 citybound have been moved to the Hardshoulder – traffic moving with knock on delays back to J4 Sandyknowes.”
