Lymm pensioner fined by courts for speeding at 76mph on M25

Alan Boardman, of Lymm, was snapped by a speed camera travelling at 76mph on the M25 in London.

The 72-year-old, of Orchard Road, appeared before Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court in south west London.

Here, he faced a charge of exceeding a variable speed limit by an automatic camera device.

The court heard how the driving offence was committed on May 7 in Enfield, with Boardman driving an Audi A4 S-Line

He was caught driving at 76mph between junctions 23 and 27 in excess of the 50 variable speed limit in place at the time.

The defendant was ordered to pay a total of £896, broken down into a fine of £576, surcharge to fund victim services of £230 and court costs of £90.

In addition, his driving record has been endorsed with six points, with his guilty plea taken into account when imposing sentence.
