Live updates as truck gets wedged under rail bridge

A key road off the A500 has been shut this morning after a huge truck became stuck under a railway bridge.

Police and Network Rail engineers are currently at the scene on City Road in Fenton[1].

And the section between the Leek Road roundabout to Lytton Street has been coned off with traffic being diverted.

Engineers from Network Rail were called in at around 5.45am while it’s believed patrolling police officers came across the crash.

At roughly 7am a large recovery truck arrived on the scene – however it’s not known how long it will take to release the truck.
