Two people were taken to hospital after a lorry crash near Kirkham this morning (Wednesday, October 25).

Police[2] closed part of Preston New Road/Blackpool Road[3] after the crash near Hudson Drive, close to Ribby Hall roundabout, at 9.10am.

The collision involved a lorry and a car, and both the driver and passenger from the car were taken to hospital for treatment.

The lorry driver was not injured. North West Ambulance Service has been approached for further details on the two casualties and their injuries.

Lancashire Police[4] closed the road for around 90 minutes while ambulance crews worked at the scene. It has since reopened.

β€œIt’s a collision between a lorry and a car,” a police spokesperson told the Gazette.

"Driver and passenger in the car have gone to hospital. Call came at 9.10am.”
