Investigations continue after fatal crash kills man in his 50s
Investigations will continue today (Thursday, October 5) into a fatal crash[1] that claimed the life of a man in his 50s and closed a main road in Cheltenham for almost 17 hours. The collision involved a man on a motorbike and a Honda Civic on the A4019 Tewkesbury Road on Tuesday (October 3) at around 7.40pm.
Members of the public and ambulance crews[2] went to the rider’s aid but he was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was in custody yesterday (Wednesday).
Police closed the road at the junction of Tewkesbury Road and Brook Road, near the KFC on the Tuesday evening. The road didn’t reopen[3] until 12.30pm on Wednesday after a full investigation had taken place.
Anyone who witnessed the collision but hasn’t spoken to police is asked to submit information via the online form[5], referencing incident 420 of 3 October. You can also call 101 and quote the same incident number.
