Hunt for lorry driver as man seriously injured in hit and run

A man was seriously injured after being hit by a lorry on a major road.
Emergency services were called to West Derby Road at around 9.25am on Tuesday, October 25, following reports that a man had been hit by a lorry near to Orphan Drive[1]. The man suffered serious injuries and has been taken to hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the white lorry, which was reported to have two trailers at the back, didn’t stop at the scene and police said enquiries were ongoing to find him and the vehicle.
In an update this afternoon, Merseyside Police said officers have now located the lorry driver. West Derby Road is currently closed whilst officers continue[4] their enquiries and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
Officers are continuing to appeal to anyone who saw the crash or has any dashcam footage to contact them.
Chief Inspector David Currie said: "To leave the scene of any collision is a serious crime, and we’re keen to trace the man and the lorry he was driving to assist our enquiries. We are appealing to anyone who saw this collision on Derby Road at around 9.25am this morning or has any dashcam footage from their vehicle to please contact us as a matter of urgency.
