Heavy traffic on Edinburgh city bypass after two cars collide near …
Huge queues have begun to build up on the Edinburgh bypass[1] after a two-vehicle collision.
Traffic between the Straiton and Lothianburn junctions of the A720 are experiencing delays[2] as one vehicle was pictured parked on the verge of the carriageway, with another stuck at the central reservation.
Traffic Scotland warned motorists of delays. Posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, they said: “A720 eastbound just before Straiton off-slip, there’s a vehicle on the nearside verge and one at the central reserve, traffic is slow from Lothianburn.”
Images from nearby traffic cameras show one car parked on the verge next to the inside lane after appearing to have suffered damage. An incident support truck was aiding with traffic flow until the vehicle was removed.
